Honoring nature isn’t a chapter in our story. It’s the whole story.
Timo & Violet was born from a mother’s obsession with what touches her child’s skin. That obsession never stopped at the fabric. It runs through every fiber we choose, every partner we work with, every package we send, and every country we’ve chosen to make things in.
We don’t treat sustainability as a checklist. We treat it the way we treat design — as something worth getting right, from the inside out.
What we’re made of.
Every fabric we use is certified organic. Our cotton is GOTS certified — grown in Turkey and Tanzania without pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, requiring less water than conventional cotton. Our labels are made from 100% organic cotton. Our hang tags are made from 100% post-consumer content, printed with soy-based ink, and fully recyclable and biodegradable.
We also reject the idea that textiles are disposable. Every piece we make is designed to be worn for years, passed down, and loved by the next child who needs it. Our prints are original works of art. The craftsmanship is built to last. These are the heirlooms we wished we’d had.
Where we’re made.
We’ve chosen each of our production homes deliberately — for their craft, their people, and their values. Here’s where Timo & Violet is made, and why.
Portugal
Our linens, bedding, and much of our children’s collection are crafted in premier Portuguese ateliers — the same facilities trusted by Baby Dior and Bonpoint. European labor laws govern working conditions here, and the level of quality and craftsmanship is extraordinary. Once we learned what was possible in Portugal, there was no going back.
India
Our India collection is produced through a trusted local agent with deep connections to some of the finest ateliers in the country — held to the same fair trade and labor standards as Boll & Branch. The printing and embroidery are first class, and the proprietary fabric we developed together for our women’s pajama collection is unlike anything else we’ve found — extraordinarily soft, and entirely our own.
Colombia
Our swim capsule is made in Colombia — the top swimwear exporter in South America and a global leader in specialized textile manufacturing. The industry is powered by a highly skilled, largely female labor force with a deep cultural dedication to intricate, detailed, and fashionable beachwear. It was the only choice for a swim collection that had to be as beautiful as everything else we make.
Peru
Our dolls are handcrafted in Peru, where artisan knitting traditions have been passed down through generations. Peru is one of the world’s premier sources of alpaca fiber and Pima cotton — both valued for their extraordinary softness, natural colors, and hypoallergenic properties. The knitting cooperatives we work with hold fair trade certifications, and the craftsmanship is genuinely unlike anything produced by machine. Each doll is made by hand, and it shows.
How we’re wrapped.
No single-use plastics. Ever. Our garments ship in BioXpand compostable polybags. Our boxes are made from recycled paper and shipped flat to minimize emissions. Our printed garments are digitally printed, which significantly reduces water waste compared to screen printing and eliminates the need for synthetic dyes.
And with every single order placed, a tree is planted.

Our people standard.
No child labor. Full stop — for Timo & Violet and every supplier, vendor, and partner we work with. We support fair wages, defined as enough to meet basic needs and provide discretionary income. We require safe, clean, well-maintained working conditions. We require that working hours never exceed local law. And we stand firmly against discrimination of any kind in hiring, compensation, training, or promotion.
These are not aspirations. They are requirements.
