From Rome to Sardinia: Our Family Favorites

From Rome to Sardinia: Our Family Favorites

COME WITH US TO ITALY

Last summer, we wandered through Rome and Sardinia with our extended multigenerational family — kids from toddlers to teens — gathering the moments, meals, and places that made the trip unforgettable.

ROME

to stay

  • Fendi Private Suites — a modern, elegant hideaway right in the heart of the city.
  • Hotel Eden — a classic favorite from another trip, full of timeless charm.

to eat

  • Vladimiro Marcello — an old family favorite that always feels like coming home. Had my first bite of real Roman food here when I was 15!
  • Felice a Testaccio — long tables, classic Roman dishes, and the kind of meal you linger over.

to do

  • Private tours with Context Tours — especially the food tour that became an instant family highlight.
  • Wander the cobblestone streets, toss coins in the Trevi Fountain, and linger over gelato (because, of course).

SARDINIA

to stay

  • We rented a house in Porto Rafael through The Collectionist — Villa Raffaello — choosing peaceful days away from the bustle of Porto Cervo.

to eat

  • Ristorante Giagoni in Piazza — a piazza restaurant under a breathtaking mountain backdrop.
  • Beach lunch at Porto Pollo Ristorantino — perfect shade, fresh flavors, and sea views.

to sip

  • Capichera Vineyards and Winery — we loved it so much we ordered wines to bring home; the kids were welcomed as warmly as we were.

to do

  • Discovering hidden beaches — 20‑minute hikes to coves that felt like our own secret spots.
  • Chartering a boat for a full day — seeing the Sardinian coast from the water, with glimpses of Corsica in the distance.

LA DOLCE VITA

Italy wasn’t just a destination — it was a pace, a feeling, and a series of perfect moments with family. We hope this little guide sparks a plan (or a daydream) of your own.
